You have already seen this if you saw Toy Story 1/2 in 3D in the last week or so, which you probably didn’t, but now it’s online, and while it will probably be taken down, I’ll make sure to download it and/or replenish with new videos if it gets taken down like Princess and the Frog did. Viddy in HD after the jump. Yeah boy. Ignore how it messes up the page a bit when you go after the jump. Big videos do that.

Billy Finlay’s favorite film (I don’t care if he hasn’t seen it, it’s his favorite movie) has been covered with a veil for a long while, even though two trailers are out and everyone’s seen them. This movie is still sort of a mystery to everyone, for all the obvious reasons. It’s the first 2D animated Disney flick in the old traditional style in a while, the whole black princess thing, etc. and it’s gathering a lot of buzz just for those things. I don’t know if it is totally warranted yet, but this clip sort of brings a lot more to light, quality-wise. What is your reaction? Tell me in the comments.

After we’ve had an animated movie come out called “9″, am I the only one who thinks that this is possibly TOO VAGUE? I mean, it’s usually the letters that are recognizable in the logo. People’ll figure it out because of the tagline, most people anyway, but…interesting, Disney, interesting. This could very well be some sort of movie about cereal or Cars 3, as most people wouldn’t notice if there wasn’t a Cars 2.

It’s been known for a while that Jason Segel, after capturing the hearts of America with Dracula’s Lament and the rest of his Dracula puppet musical, was trying to get a new Muppets film off the ground. At D23, it was made official that The Cheapest Muppets Movie Ever Made (yes, that’s the title) is indeed happening, but by that title, it seems that things may have changed in this project.

The Cheapest Muppets Movie Ever Made is an unproduced idea from Jim Henson about Gonzo spending all the movie’s budget on the opening credits and the rest of the film being as cheap as possible as the Muppets try to figure out what to do to fill the rest of the film, while Segel’s idea, The Greatest Muppets Movie Ever, is about them uniting to save the Muppet Theater from an evil oil tycoon. As it turns out, the old theater its on top of some black gold.

How is that going to work? It’s Segel, so I trust him.

Say that ten times fast. Guillermo Del Toro hinted a week ago or so that he had a super secret project and that it had to do with the letter “D”, and speculation went rampant. I didn’t post about it because with the exception of Pan’s Labyrinth, the guy hasn’t made anything even remotely good from my end, but at that moment he did just about attach himself to about 30 projects in the internet rumor mill. Now that we know what it is…well, it’s pretty cool, even though I don’t quite know how it’s going to deliver.

The project is the new Disney line “Double Dare You”, which is basically going to be a push by Disney and Del Toro, producing all the projects out of it and directing some (his schedule is too full for that, so…doubtful), to release all ages spook films. Get back to the days of scaring the pants of kids all over the world, and that I possibly approve.

The first project is going to be based off a Del Toro story called Trollhunters, And to be a giant tease, Del Toro said that the Double Dare You films will be linked by “one feature that shall remain secret, but that you shall soon be very familiar with.”

The press release:
Anaheim, California — September 11, 2009 — The Walt Disney Studios, in collaboration with acclaimed filmmaker Guillermo del Toro (“Pan’s Labyrinth,” “The Hobbit”), is launching a new production label called Disney Double Dare You, to create new animated films full of chills and thrills for audiences of all ages, it was announced today at the D23 Expo by Dick Cook, chairman of The Walt Disney Studios. All films will be produced under the guidance of del Toro, who originated the concept and the design of DDY and who will also direct certain projects. The first project in development for the new label is called “Trollhunters,” an original del Toro story which he will produce.

Commenting on the announcement, Cook said, “Guillermo is a brilliant and visionary filmmaker, and we’re excited to be launching this new label with him. His knowledge and appreciation for Disney films, along with his penchant for creating worlds of fantasy, presented a great opportunity for us to explore a whole new genre of filmmaking for moviegoers of all ages. We have admired Guillermo’s imaginative approach to filmmaking for some time, and now we’re proud to be working with him to create films full of imaginative delights and lots of thrills at the same time.”

Del Toro added, “As a director, I love to take audiences into fantastic new worlds and provide them with some anxious moments in the process. It is part of the Disney canon to create thrilling, unforgettable moments and villains in all their classic films. It is my privilege for DDY to continue in this tradition. To partner up with The Walt Disney Studios, with the support of Dick Cook and John Lasseter, is to belong to a storytelling partnership that I admire deeply. It is a true honor. I look forward to coming up with fresh and original stories that will take Disney films in a whole new direction. The emphasis is on fun, and we have some great ideas already on the storyboards.”

Del Toro’s Pan’s Labyrinth received six Academy Award® nominations in 2007, including one for his original screenplay, and went on to win three awards. That film also received a BAFTA Award for Best Film not in the English language. His other directing credits include “Hellboy,” “Hellboy II: The Golden Army,” “The Devil’s Backbone,” “Cronos,” and “Mimic,” among others. Del Toro is currently directing back-to-back feature film adaptations of the Tolkien classic, “The Hobbit,” for release in 2011 and 2012.
