I have yet to write it and knowing me, I never will. But it’s good. It’s good. What do I have that is better? The two endings to the film that weren’t used, the original ending, the alternate ending, and the one that Spielberg and co. decided to reshoot and use. Blah. I love the alternate ending, like the original ending, tolerate the studio ending. But still, awesome.

Original:
The original ending had Katie go downstairs in the middle of the night, apparently in a trance. Suddenly she lets off an unearthly scream and Micah jumps out of bed and runs downstairs to help, but the camera remains in the bedroom. Abruptly the screaming stops, and we hear heavy footsteps walking up the stairs. Katie walks in with blood on her and a bloody butcher knife. She stands in front of the camera, looking down, and after a few seconds of standing there, slits her throat with the knife.

Studio (which you saw):
Same thing happens, with screaming and footsteps, but this time Micah’s body is thrown into the camera, knocking it to the ground. Katie walks in with a lot of blood on her stomach, sniffs his dead body, and then gets close up to the camera. He faces then morphs into a demon like face and attacks? the camera. In the epilogue that follows, they say that Micah’s body was discovered three days later, while Katie’s was never found.

Alternate:
Same thing happens as the first, but this time when Katie comes to the room she sits and rocks next to her bed for days. Phone calls and messages are heard in the background, and eventually the friend comes. Katie goes downstairs (camera’s still in the room) and we can hear her kill her (I get chills thinking about this). Then she comes back and continues rocking. The police eventually come, she goes after them with the knife, and they blow the shit out of her. The last part sucks, but the rest is pretty skin-crawling.
