Warner Brothers present LEGO: THE MOVIE!!!1!

The thing I hate most about a studio is that they are so ready and willing to cash in on whatever bottom of the barrel strike of gold they find, as it seems like the surprise hit is always as terrible as it can possibly be, and this time around it’s shitpiles like Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra that are for reasons that I don’t even know of and probably couldn’t understand if I did, are making money, and people actually like them! So now stuff with absolutely no appeal (I think, but they’ll make 100 million dollars no matter what) like Viewmaster, Stretch Armstrong, Battleship, Monopoly, Candyland and now LEGO, are in development. Toys and board games, stop! Stop! Stop!
Granted, it’s true that someone might be able to find a story in Lego. It’s made a bunch of pretty amusing video games (Lego Star Wars, Lego Indiana Jones, Lego Batman), and it is a toyline that can be anything and everything. That said…it’s still really damn stupid.
Newbie studio hires with nothing to their name (why can’t that be me?) Dan and Kevin Hageman are writing the script for Warner, and Dan Lin (Terminator Salvation) is producing it under his label, as well as the Vertigo banner. My mind hurts.

There’s gonna be a Candyland movie?!
Okay THAT I would go see.
Haha a Viewmatser movie would be so boring:
Here’s a mountain!
Now a beach!
Now here’s a deer!
For 2 hours? I would kill myself.
And the rest are fairly lame as well.
Plus Lego can only be other things (like you said, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, etc.) so how could they make it original? That’s the real question.

So when are they actually going to do Minesweeper: The Movie?

And as to making an original LEGO movie, that’s easy. Just do LEGO Island.

Oh God, Minesweeper: The Movie. That I am in full support of.
