The family of philistines on ‘Ponyo’

Another example of the absolute buffoonery in which I have to deal with on a daily basis. This is how you get kids who never speak to their family ever again.
Zach: So I saw Ponyo last night.
Little brother: That’s stupid. It’s rated G.
Zach: So? It’s a good movie. I saw it a while ago in japanese.
Little brother: Give me a summary then.
Zach: I can’t. It’s one of those things you kind of have to see. Can’t really be told what it’s about.
Little brother: Then it must be a bad movie if you can’t tell me what it’s about.
Zach: If I did, I’d be cheapening the movie. It’s not simpleton stuff like G.I. Joe.
Little brother: It’s a kids movie, it’s a cartoon, so it has to be.
Zach: No, they do things differently in Japan. They make animated movies of worth. You can’t just say what a movie is “about” in a sentence, if you could, then there’s only a sentence of actual content and it probably isn’t worth seeing.
Little brother: But it’s rated G, you’re stupid!
*brings in parents, they agree with him for no reason and start FUCKING YELLING because I’m being defensive of his whining and lunacy and going LALALALALALALALALALA*
He then proceeds to tell me that I said something COMPLETELY different, that is both quite retarded and too ridiculous for me to actually remember, if I do, I’ll edit it in, as it adds a whole nother level to the story, but the parents start talking about how if a movie can’t be described in a sentence, it has no plot and must be “empty”, and that if you watch something, you HAVE to know what it’s about because otherwise it could be a movie about homosexuals or old women and their cat.
So the lesson here is simple, Hayao Miyazaki is a retard who can’t make movies and G.I. Joe is awesome. My mom has really turned into quite the “I agree with who’s talking at the given moment” aoerubhaeoruhjalehgaouerh, hasn’t she?

It’s good in English, but Noah Cyrus turns Ponyo from the cutest thing ever to being incredibly annoying.

Wow. I’m stunned. There are so many things wrong with your family’s reaction that I don’t think I would even be capable of commenting on all the stupidity.

I have every reason for misanthropy and a superiority complex. It’s awesome up on this throne, but there’s always the legion of assholery trying to claw me down.
