Brother: So what are the reviews on District 9?
Me: Everyone seems to like it a lot.
Brother: Bullshit. That’s the worst movie I’ve seen ever. I got my money back.
Me: It’s one of the best reviewed movies of the year…wait, how’d you get your money back?
Brother: I watched like 20 minutes of it and demanded them to give me my money because it’s the worst movie ever. How could they show that in their theater?
Me: Everyone I know who’s seen it likes it a lot. Were you just turned off by the documentary style?
Brother: That just made it worse! They were treating the aliens like humans and it was so stupid! It like, made me so mad.
Me: I need to show you Rotten Tomatoes.

*shows Rotten Tomatoes, 87% critical approval

Brother: Show me the user reviews, regular people are smarter than critics.

Brother: This is so wrong! Don’t see it Zach, I advise you not to see it.

Dad butts in, starts getting so excited over Derek walking out of a movie and doing that because bad alien movie is bad. Mom acts the same way, I pull the “I know all about movies ever” card and yaddi yaddi yadda, we’re going to see it unless if I go with 23ternity or Nick.
