The Fantastic Mr. Fox looks fantastic.

Redundancy, I love it.

New pictures of Wes Anderson’s The Fantastic Mr. Fox (November 13th, Fox Searchlight) are being revealed, too little too late it seems as the movie’s just coming to be revealed before it will be in a theater near you. Fox was planning to release it as a major holiday tentpole, but decided to dump it on their indie division and just sort of let the thing die. Some are theorizing that the thing is a disaster based off the first picture revealed, but after this new one, even though a friend of mine called it “disastrous looking, like someone made a movie about Howard the Duck’s cousin”, I think it looks fantastic.

With George Clooney, Meryl Streep and Bill Murray’s voices all coming together in this stop-motion puppet-fest, the movie definitely looks interesting, and seeing the same image from last week and this new one in a much higher resolution definitely makes it look better than it did. They look far less animatronic and Chuck E. Cheese like now, but still very unique and unlike the usual Henry Selick fare, who was attached the first time.
